Summer Camp 2018

This year we will have not one but THREE Summer camp weeks to choose from.

  • Summer Camp will be for ages 7-17

  • Camp goes from 9 am to 3 pm, or for an extra $20 a day the kids can stay in the gym until 5 pm.

  • Summer camp pricing will go up $50 every month for their respective weeks starting on the following days:

    • Week 2 ($450 until 7/23)
    • Week 3 ($400 until 7/27)

  • Our curriculum for Summer Camp 2018 is based on Ukemi - The Discipline of Falling.

Failure is an essential element of any learning process and the movement art of failure is known as Ukemi. Ukemi is a Japanese word that means “breaking ones fall” and is used to describe a method of falling without getting injured. The method originated in martial art styles including judo, aikido, jujitsu, and wushu and has since been translated over to other sports including parkour. Ukemi was designed to study falling techniques related to specific scenarios of a specific sport. In aikido, ukemi is used to practice falling out of “uncontrolled” throws safely. A similar example in parkour ukemi, would be failing a front flip and instead of landing on your head, you turn it into a dive roll. Failing is a part of every sport and learning how to fail safely is one of the most important skills that we can learn as athletes.

Summer Camp will run from 9 AM - 3 PM, Monday through Friday.

Currently Summer Camp 2018 will run for:

25th - 29th of June

23rd - 27th of July

27th - 31st of August

We will be providing lunch for the kids each day, and they are free to bring whatever extra snacks they wish. We are asking that everyone bring a water bottle, and wear athletic clothing and sneakers. (Absolutely no flip-flops, sandals, or crocs)
